I opened the box of buttons when it arrived earlier today and that's when it struck me. This box contains a thousand little depictions of the beetle - that's over three times the number of beetles that emerged this past summer. I have more buttons in my apartment right now than there are Salt Creek Tiger Beetles in the world. Pretty crazy. Anyway, if you want a beetle button you can track me down at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival. Or just send me an email and ask nicely.

Wear Your Very Own Beetle!
I wanted to create some sort of swag for the premiere of Meet the Beetle next month and I decided to make buttons.
Not only are they small, cute, and wearable but on these 1" button the image of the beetle is essentially life size. I thought it could be a neat way to identify with the insect and raise awareness. I got permission from National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore (who's featured in the film) to use one of his wonderful photos of the Salt Creek Tiger Beetle.

World Premiere Next Month!
What are you doing the weekend of January 13th - 15th? We'll be in Nevada City, CA to watch the very first public screening of Meet the Beetle at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival! If you're in the area you should come on by! Either way, stay tuned for photos and updates from the festival.
And we're still waiting to hear back from a bunch of other festivals too - hopefully it will come to a city near you soon!
